Dr. Mrinal Das, MS, MCh, is a distinguished Surgical Oncologist and Robotic & Laparoscopic Onco-Surgeon with over 18 years of extensive experience in surgical practice and patient care. He currently serves as a Consultant in Surgical Oncology at NEMCARE Hospital, Guwahati and Barpeta Cancer Centre (under ACCF). Recognized for his expertise in minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and robotic oncologic surgeries, Dr. Das is dedicated to delivering advanced, precision-based cancer treatment with a strong emphasis on patient comfort, safety, and holistic recovery.

His clinical proficiency encompasses a wide range of cancers, including gastrointestinal, hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB), colorectal, breast, head and neck, gynecological, urological, thoracic, and soft tissue malignancies. With a focus on adopting the latest surgical technologies, Dr. Das strives to make high-quality oncological care more accessible across Northeast India, where he plays a key role in multidisciplinary cancer management teams.

Dr. Das completed his MBBS from Guwahati Medical College & Hospital, followed by MS in General Surgery from Assam Medical College & Hospital, and later earned his MCh in Surgical Oncology from Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospital, Jaipur, one of the highest surgical qualifications in India. He has also received multiple fellowships, including FIAGES, FAIS, FMAS, and a Travelling Fellowship from the Rajasthan Cancer Society (2022), further enriching his expertise in advanced surgical techniques.

Before his current appointments, Dr. Das served as a Consultant in General and Minimal Access Surgery at Oil India Hospital, Duliajan, and as Senior Resident in General Surgery and Burns & Plastic Surgery at Lok Nayak Hospital, MAMC, New Delhi, where he gained valuable experience managing complex surgical cases.

An active academician and researcher, Dr. Das has published several papers in reputed national and international journals and has been an invited faculty and examiner in postgraduate surgical forums. He is an active member of professional bodies like ASI, IASO, IMA, IAGES, and AMASI, and continues to champion advancements in robotic and laparoscopic cancer surgery.
